Pops is the tenth episode of the first season of Lucifer. It aired on March 28, 2016.
Summary
Lucifer and Chloe are tasked with solving the murder of a prominent restaurateur. When they meet his son, they suspect he played a part in the death. Meanwhile, Chloe’s mom returns home, sending Chloe’s life into upheaval, as Lucifer learns his own dysfunctional family isn’t nearly as unique as he thought.
Plot
The character that is Lucifer and his education towards the meaning of life.Look you can't blame the poor Devil, if my father was God and a chick would cry his name in vain as I'm trying to woo her or bang her, I would be turned off too!.
This Chef, Javier dies, poisoned. One who just happens to be a favorite of Lucifer no less. That's the case. When they get to the place of work, the restaurant, what does he do?. As soon as he realizes that Pops was a father figure, he's all out on thinking they all wanted him dead!
That because he's got a grudge with his old man (aka God), he's projecting his views as assumption of facts to the case. This by-the-way, is a pattern in the show, Mama Decker is quite the handful. She is such a contrast to Chloe, it's actually marvelous to see this dynamic in action.
See the barely hidden glee during interrogation, when every question Lucifer throws, somehow, always hits a synonymous nerve so to speak with his relationship with God. No sense of impartiality. And yet, it's just natural to Lucifer, because he is just so self-centered, you really would not at this point in the show, expect anything else.
The kinship between Pops' son and Lucifer was really interesting. Onto something else, Mazikeen getting some therapy! :)
Did you like Maze and Trixie? What a babysitter uh! :) That little Trixie's pretty smart, using Uber? C'mon, that was really, unexpected, seriously. But cute to see. Maze was so, not at all knowing how to handle kids, and while she played along pretty nicely, well, let's just say, her Shirley Temple's had a real kick to them.
Now that family supper was priceless!. The bantering and the sheer idiocy of the conversation, again, Lucifer, clearly, no subtlety at all. But boy can this guy really break the ice.It was a nice touch to bring Javier Jr in one the impromptu meal as the cook. Detective Douche certainly was happy for a way out of this table.
And to finish it off, Lucifer was again, trying so hard to compare his situation from the current circumstances and failing quite spectacularly. So, the show's premise, once you go past the death of Pops, was to show Lucifer that being in the shadow of a dad, is not necessarily being a failure or a reject.
Mazikeen's friend's with Doctor Martin, she always plays good supporting roles. Being a mere mortal, Lucifer can swoon her. I suspect that Maze can too.
It would seem that Dan (Detective Douche) has bought the farm. Malcolm killed him. Well, it would seem that way, because Chloe's text message rejection from Dan's phone is a great hint, after all, Malcolm texted back to Chloe and it was a no.
But the twisted and surprising turn of events is Lucifer refusing Chloe's advances and kiss. Even he's surprised! Hell,He felt guilt maybe? She was drunk, and he was being gentlemanly? He really has affection for her and he was literally caught off-guard. Way to go! And with a very classic finish to boot! A snoring, passed out woman just lying in his arms.
"Oh God!"
