Upon further investigation, Lucifer and Chloe make a stunning realization when they find that their target may be much closer than they thought."[1]

Plot[]

Linda and Maze have gotten together at Lux, and Linda wants to know if the constant drinking, violence, and sex get exhausting. Maze tells her she is actually getting bored, so much so she has baited a trap and is simply waiting for her next bounty to appear; she needs more. Lucifer encourages her, “The best thing to do is always follow your greatest desire. Burn brighter, Mazikeen, you should hunt the most challenging human you can.” She thinks that is a great idea.

Eventually, Maze finds her way to the office of Lieutenant Herrera, an officer in the organized crime division. He’s taken aback when Maze tells him she is going after Ben Rivers, and he tells her the fugitive is tough; every bounty hunter who has gone after him has failed.

The next morning, Chloe talks to Maze as she packs, does she even know anything about Canada. Maze shrugs, “Same humans, different city.” When they notice he duffel is moving, Maze unzips it to find Trixie hiding inside, she can’t let Maze go alone, some one has to cover her back! Maze confidentially tells the little girl that one of them needs to stay home and protect Chloe, without them, she is defenseless. Trixie agrees and gives Maze a stuffed toy, Miss Alien, as her mascot.

So, Canada. The snow is a surprise, and an unhappy Maze gets a roof slide full on her head. When the foolish kid beside her laughs, he winds up head first in a snow drift and Maze gets a new parka.

Back in LA, Dan is getting ready to head out on vacation, he finally has enough points to go to Hawaii. He tells Chloe how to reach him in case of emergency and leaves for the airport. Lucifer gleefully notes “new dots” in Chloe's ongoing surveillance of Maze's movements, and she wants to know if he is the reason Canada is in danger. She decides she is going to talk to Rivers' attorney, Athena Burns. With Lucifer's aid, they discover she had helped him elude police and has been sanding him money, “He's not what you'd expect, he's charming, and handsome, and when he looks you in the eyes, I don't care who you are, you are defenseless against him.”

Maze heads to a lodge to fish for leads, and with it, is next seen up giving a massage to a rich girl who talks about her new man – and where she is planning on meeting him. Maze is then seen waiting at a bar as Rivers approaches. She handcuffs him, and the two talk. She is a bit disappointed that after all the work to find him he just gives up without a fight. He seems philosophical, he had to get caught someday. When Maze calls a halt, he wonders how she is going to get out of the cuffs – he has switched them from him to her, and makes a break. Maze smiles.

Back in LA, Chloe finds herself baffled by the Rivers' case. There is something strange going on. She goes to see Herrera. She apologizes for interfering in his case, he thanks her for getting him a new lead. Maze calls Chloe to give her an update, but Chloe seems worried, telling Maze Rivers is emotionally dangerous. Lucifer thinks Chloe is being too much the mother hen and texts Maze Rivers' location. Maze finds her way to Rivers’ hotel room, and he wonders if she just likes chasing him. He then tells her he did not kill the teens he was accused of murdering, he was framed by Herrera, for whom he worked, just like Maze, and Herrera will betray her next. Maze says she doesn't care. That's when room service knocks. The room service waitress comes in wielding an automatic weapon and sprays the room, as the others scramble for cover. Maze pulls a blade and Rivers makes a remark about blades versus knives, and Maze throws blind, and is rewarded by an “ow!” and the shooter retreats, wounded.

Meanwhile, Linda is in session with Lucifer who is complaining about Chloe's over-protectiveness, that Maze “can scare an entire country.” When she gets a call, she is startled to find it's Maze on video chat. Linda spots a bleeding Rivers and wants to know if that's a gunshot wound. Lucifer is delighted and asks if Maze shot him. She says she has to get the bullet out, and she didn't put it there, but how does she stop the human from dying? Linda says to take him to a hospital, “I mean, how many times do I have to tell you, I’m not that kind of doctor.” Linda gives her the first aid basics, and Lucifer tells Rivers he's not all that handsome. Maze knocks out Rivers, and digs out the bullet none too gently, she tells Linda she can dismember humans, putting them together can't be that hard, and as she catches herself being gentle with Rivers, terminates the call. Lucifer looks appalled, “He broke my Maze.”

When Rivers comes to, he reiterates his innocence, that if she takes him back he is a dead man. When there's a knock at the door, it turns out to be Dan, much to Maze’s surprise. He says he was on a layover in Vancouver and mentions Chloe’s concerns about this case; Herrera is fishy. Maze tells him Rivers corroborates that. When she turns to look for Rivers, he’s gone. She tells Dan that the shooter from last night is still out there and Maze wants his help to get Rivers before she does.

In Los Angeles, Lucifer tells Chloe they should go to Canada. While she thinks his concern is endearing, she thinks they can help better where they are. She brings in the security guard who fingered Rivers for the murders, and his testimony turns out to be contradictory and she asks if he's just telling them what they want to hear, “I thought that's what you wanted.”

Out hunting, Maze, meanwhile spots Rivers kneeling in the snow; the room service assassin stands near-by, pointing a gun at him, and she has henchmen. Maze stands up, “That’s my bounty, bitch!” After a little banter, shots are fired, Dan shows up, and hand to hand fighting commences. When Maze, Rivers, and Dan are the last standing, Dan tells them he'll handle the situation with the locals, and they should go.

In Los Angeles, Herrera finds the Devil at his desk and is told, “murderers aren't allowed to masquerade as lieutenants anymore.” Chloe tells him they have all the testimony they need from Rivers, the security guard, and the hit team in Canadian custody, who will all name him as the killer, and she places him under arrest. Maze tells Rivers he can stop running, but that she's out a bounty. He tells her the people Herrera work for won't stop hunting him, but maybe she can run with him? “You and me, we're the same. No roots. No family. We can hit a new city every week, see the most beautiful places, live every day like it's our last. And all you got to do is join me.”

Maze however, returns to Los Angeles. Her friends welcome her back, Trixie thinks that the newly blood spattered Miss Alien is extra cool. Lucifer asks her if she is all right, and Maze says, “I'm exactly where I want to be.”
