When they get there, they discover that the shooter had been there earlier that day, asking for the owner, Freddy. Before they can ask anymore questions, however, Freddy is shot by sniper rifle. Chloe sees where the shot came from but by the time she and Lucifer get there, the shooter is gone. Chloe realises that their killer has "a list".

Chloe and Dan discover that the shooter is Wes Williams, who is getting revenge for his wife who died from lung disease; she took part in an experimental trial, but was put in the placebo group. They figure out who Wes' next targets are; a husband and wife team who participated in the trial. They go to check on the pair at their place of work, but Wes is already there. He tries to shoot the wife, Sally, in the lobby of the building, but Lucifer appears and stands in front of her, telling Wes to shoot him.

Plot

A bride is shot at her Halloween themed wedding. When Lucifer arrives at the crime scene, he is dishevelled and obviously under the influence, still wracked with guilt for killing Uriel. Nevertheless, he still finds a lead. One of the bridesmaids had told the bride's ex about the wedding.

Back at the precinct, the their suspect is waiting in interrogation, and while Chloe is talking to Dan, Lucifer questions him alone, breaking off the doors handles so they won't be disturbed. From the viewing room, Chloe tells Lucifer to open the doors, which he reluctantly does, declaring the suspect innocent. He tells Chloe that while the ex had been at the wedding, he had left and bumped into a man with a guitar case, which Chloe speculates could have been used to carry and hide the murder weapon.

Meanwhile, Amenadiel is at Lux, grieving the death of Uriel. His mother takes him to the woods where Lucifer buried Uriel and they grieve together. Amenadiel starts to lose faith in his Father.

After going back to the scene of the crime, the LAPD find evidence of a shooter. They find a food wrapper and Chloe and Lucifer decide to check out the venue.

Back at the precinct, Chloe talks to Freddy's wife and discovers that connection between the two victims is their spouses. They worked together; the murdered bride's husband is a lawyer who handled malpractices at the hospital where Freddy's wife works.

Dan fails to get the records, saying they need a warrant, but Lucifer steals his badge and uses it to get the records himself. After an argument, Lucifer punches Dan and Chloe angrily tells him to go home.
