  • Hello!

I've had some ideas to improve the achievment badges on this Wiki. If you grant me access, I could do it, no problem.

I've also done it in Brickipedia, where I have been an admin for some months now.

    If you're interested, message me!

    Cheers!

    • To be honest, I do not care about achievements badges - they often cause more trouble than good for wikis. I think Wikia did the right thing removing the feature from new wikis (which was done over a year ago). While I'm not removing the achievements from this wiki (yet), I'm not going to promote them either.

re: admin/content moderator - I'm not opposed to having more staff on this wiki, but you've got to give me a better reason than achievements. (btw, see User blog:Janus100/Open Call for Admins)

    • No problem. Right now, I'm happy making the edits I find useful, but if you ever need help, you can count on me.

  • Jey Janus, I'm checking in to update you with the latest UCP updates! We've lately had a barrage of updates including new profiles and message walls, as well as the new wiki creation process.

    For new profiles:

    • It will focus more on the user, rather than the stats

    Wiki creation:

    • To prevent duplicate wikis, there will be a process if it detects an overlap which a new wiki would be flagged for approval.

You can learn more in the respective blogs which I linked above. If you have any questions, feel free to drop one on the blog or on my talk page/message wall.

  • Hi , I am conducting research on user activity on fandom wikia. If you would be so kind as to fill out my survey, it would be extremely appreciated. The survey is short and completely confidential and will mainly ask questions about your amount of contribution and usage of the website. I highly encourage you to fill out this survey so that I can develop a deeper understanding of this wiki-based website.

    Thank you so much!

  • Hey there, hope all is well. It's been a great year around Fandom with lots of updates. Will like to leave you update once more before the year ends about an update on Featured Videos if you haven't read it yet. Basically, they will be replaced by The Loop, which are vertical specific mini-shows. These will also help promote wikis within the vertical unlike the pre-exisiting featured videos.

And if you'd like a recap of the year Fandom has had, feel free to read about it here!

Hope you have a great New Years!

  • Hey there Janus! In case you haven't read the global taxonomy blog from a couple weeks ago, we're working to better personalize recommendations like how Netflix does based on what you have watched. If you'd like to learn more, feel free to check out the blog or ask any questions.

  • Hey there Janus, just thought should let you know if you haven't heard yet. Tom Ellis was reportedly spotted on the set of Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths set.

    • I have not seen any wiki have completely different site design for a subset of pages. Nor do I see Arrowverse wiki doing something special for Lucifer pages but not their other series.

Regardless, there is no merge. No admins from Arrowverse have requested a merge and, at this time, Lucifer Wiki would reject it. Lucifer Wiki would only agree to a merge if a) the actual Lucifer TV series is shown to tie in with Arrowverse [more than one irrelevant - to Lucifer series - scene in a different show] and b) a merge would benefit the Lucifer Wiki & Lucifer fans. At this time, neither condition is met.

  • Hello, Just asking you to keep an eye on the Lucifer Morningstar page. A few of us have been trying to remove the suppositions, unsubstantiated information, and pure fanon superlatives people keep adding to his powers and abilities, but the changes keep getting reverted. We're really just trying to include information that's been shown/mentioned on the show itself (with reference to transcripts and episodes). Thanks.

    • I've semi-protected the page - the previous protection expired early September, but it seems a longer-term protection is needed. Thanks for letting me know.

  • Hey Janus, your Wiki Manager just checking in again with another update!

In case you haven't read the Community Central blog from earlier this week, Fandom officially announced the Editor Rewards program. Fandom has been looking for ways to give back to users for the work they've done. Recently they have done things such as buy movie tickets, or offer products from their favorite fandoms. Stay tuned as perhaps you, your co-admins, or other contributors for this wiki may even be eligible!

If you have any questions, feel free to comment on the blog so the Editor Experience team can answer directly.

  • In case you didn't hear, a new Analytics dashboard has just been introduced! This should give a clearer understanding of search terms viewers are using and which devices they come from.

All you need to do is visit Special:Analytics.

Help:Analytics dashboard can also be used for more details about the Analytics dashboard.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask as usual.

    • Yep, I saw. I find the desktop vs mobile particularly useful since making the wiki more mobile-friendly has been a long standing argument on another wiki I manage. As an admin on multiple wikis, it's also interesting to compare wikis with similar total page views but very different other stats.

I do have a question regarding the geolocation numbers. It lists top 10 countries plus their 'views' over the last 30 days. However when you add up those views, they only account for ~30% of total page views (from first chart). The tenth country only makes ~0.6% page views, so to make up the other 70%, there would be 116 additional countries tied for 10th place. However, I don't believe that's likely, so where do those 70% of views come from? Or for geolocation, is 'views' meant more like 'sessions'?

    • Excellent question, I'll pass it along for sure and get back to you.

    • Yep, got the announcement, read the blog post, received message from another Wiki Manager on another wiki I admin, etc. I don't use Discord and barely touch social media in general, so it's just not my thing. Thanks for keeping me updated, janus

    • No worries! Yea we just are delegated to ensure admins are aware since not all always click through the announcements.
