The Medallion of Life was one of three pieces that made up the Flaming Sword, serving as the hilt. To ensure that the Flaming Sword wasn't readily accessible, God divided it into three components, and hid the Medallion of Life on Earth.

On its own, it's capable of granting its holder healing powers, and grants its holder divine knowledge, making it as if God was using that person's body as a vessel.

History[]

After God broke the Flaming Sword into three pieces to insure Lucifer Morningstar didn't have it, he hid the Medallion of Life on Earth, where it remained inactive for thousands of years. However, after the Blade of Death arrived on Earth, it activated the Medallion's power, and caused Earl Johnson, who wore it as a belt-buckle, to believe he was God. After it was taken off, Earl returned to his old self and the piece was taken by Lucifer so he could unite the Flaming Sword.[1]

When Goddess started threatening Lucifer's loved ones unless he gave her the Sword, Lucifer reignited the weapon and cut a hole through the Universe to give Goddess her own universe to rule away from God. After she left, Lucifer tosses both the Blade and Medallion into the Void after her to ensure they stayed out of Human hands.[2]

Three years later, Michael had Gabriel steal the Blade of Death and the Medallion of Life from their Mother's universe when she went to deliver a message that God was retiring and give it to him so he could ignite the Flaming Sword.[3]

Once Michael got the Key to bind the pieces together, he ignited the sword in a final battle with Lucifer to decide who would become God. The sword was then separated once again after Lucifer defeated Michael.[4]

Powers[]

  • Healing: It gives the holder the power to heal people, even from grave injures. However, the holder needs to actually be touching the injured person. Also, it seems that the Medallion cannot bring the dead back to life.
  • Divine Knowledge: Since Humans are not meant to wield it, it takes over the mind of any Human in possession of it and gives them temporary awareness of the divine and the memories God had at the time of the object's creation, making it as if God was using that persons body as a vessel. This partial memory only stretches back to a time prior to Lucifer Morningstar's rebellion as Earl Johnson had the ability to recognize Lucifer without introduction and called him Samael, yet lacked memories of Lucifer's rebellion and of Goddess's banishment to Hell.
  • Immunity: It gives the holder a certain immunity, such as from drugs. It will also make a mortal wielder impervious to Lucifer's ability to compel people to confess their desires.
