Summary[]
In an effort to get over his infatuation with Chloe, Lucifer decides that he must seduce her. Meanwhile, they team up on a missing girl case. Amenadiel confronts Maze about his concerns about Lucifer.
Plot[]
In the shower, Chloe is trying to figure out what it is about Lucifer; she recalls being shot by Jimmy Barnes, and later visiting him as he smashes his head on the wall, calling Lucifer 'devil.' She considers how Lucifer threw Joe Hanson through a window. Her process is interrupted by a noise downstairs, she shut off the water and grabbed her gun. Heading downstairs in just a towel, she is startled to find Lucifer in her house. Surprised, she accidentally dropped the towel. In response to her question of what he was doing there, Lucifer pleasantly announced he was setting the table since he made a 'bit of breaky', and she hastily grabbed the towel and rewrapped. She was outraged that he broke into her house, and told him to get out. Dan and Trixie then enter, the little girl made a beeline for Lucifer. As usual, Lucifer tries to fend her off, this time with a slice of bacon. Dan demanded to know what he's doing here. When Trixie asked if they had a "sleepover," Chloe said no. Dan said Trixie left something at home, and Trixie dragged Lucifer off to fetch her report. Chloe then tells everyone to get out, and Lucifer complains about being thrown out again. Lucifer left the house and Dan patronizingly tells her he's disappointed in her.
Lucifer visits Linda, frustrated by Chloe's rejection. When Linda interrupted him, he thought she's asking for "payment", but she stopped him and introduced him to George, the patient who actually had that appointment. Lucifer acknowledged his error with an "oops."
Dan returned to Chloe's and told her there was a case. They watched a video of a young woman and her brother as they drove togetehr, and Dan said the woman, Lindsay, was missing, and she was last seen with a man called Carver Cruz. Dan said Cruz's organization will have an event soon and she was their best chance to infiltrate it, because Lucifer was on the invite list. Dan admitted he didn't like the idea of Chloe and Lucifer spending more time together, but he thought if it was their daughter who went missing, the case was more important.
Meanwhile, Linda and Lucifer further discussed his issues with Chloe. Linda told him it was not that Chloe had power over him, but he gave power to her. Lucifer deduced he needed to take back control by having sex with Chloe, despite Linda's protests that it wasn't what she meant.
Chloe met with Lucifer to get his help on the case, after a moment he agreed, saying that it coincided with his goal to have sex with her, but she firmly stated she would never sleep with him. As they arrived at the event, one of the lovely hostesses handed Lucifer her number, and Chloe asked if he'd ever been turned down. He said of course not. A young man then appeared, the missing girl's brother, demanded to see Cruz. Lucifer distracted the bouncer by asking which of the women nearby he desired, but he revealed he was gay and was more interested in Lucifer. Lucifer said he was occupied, but he managed to make him leave. The brother accused Cruz of killing his sister. Chloe assured him she would handle the situation and sent him off.
In the auditorium, Cruz appeared on stage and gave a speech that was largly about hookups and and methodolygy, which Lucifer was decidedly unimpressed with. He stood up and asked what if he already had everything Cruz said was essential to getting women, and Chloe was still not receptive, to her embarrassment. Lucifer carelessly revealed she was a cop and got them kicked out. Chloe blamed Lucifer, but said they could get into the after-party.
Meanwhile, Maze was alone at Lux when she was surprised by Amenadiel, who dodged the knife she threw at him. They fought briefly but Amenadiel overpowered her and said they both wanted the same thing, even though Maze won't admit it, but she refused to cooperate.
That evening, Chloe looked for Lucifer at the penthouse, and was surprised to find him naked. She caught herself staring then insisted he put something on. A puzzled Lucifer complied and wrapped a blanket about his wait, but then did aa slow turn for her and asked what could be better, but she noticed the huge scars on his back, and her sympathy was aroused. She tried to touch them but he grabbed her hand and said, "Don't. Please." It was one of the first real moments between them, and he seemed a bit flustered and left to get dressed. He then told Chloe to change as well since her 'scruffy' out fit would make her stand out like a 'sore cop.'
At the after-party, which was arranged to be held at Lux, men hit on Chloe with lame pickup lines, but she responded positively, ignoring Lucifer's protests. She turned to the next 'player' when she found out each wasn't at the previous party. Lucifer realized the red dress he had provided her with might have backfired. They spotted Carver Cruz, who was behaving in a squirrely manner, and when the approached, he pulled out a gun and demanded to leave. While Lucifer distracted him, Chloe overpowered him and in a panic he said "they" are going to kill Lindsay.
Up in the penthouse, Carver admitted despite his appearance and hypocrisy as a "player", he loved Lindsay, which amazed Lucifer. He revealed they said they're going to kill her if cops were involved. Lucifer picked up Cruz's phone and called the kidnappers and arranged a meeting, but they hung up before Chloe prompted Lucifer to make sure Lindsay was still alive. They received a video of Lindsay begging Cruz to rescue her. Lucifer intended to go alone, but Chloe insisted to come along while forbidding Carver from coming. Lucifer said she would have to wait in the care, since his deal had been no cops.
While they waited, lucifer snacked on cool ranch puffs and Chloe asked a bit about him. Lucifer said he had no horns or tail, that was all nonsense. She asked if he felt pain, and what it felt like if he were shot. He thought a second then flicked her sharply with his finger as a demonstration. Chloe said she did not believe in the hell, but she did believe in good and evil. When he asked if he scared her, she thought a beat and said no. Chloe then spotted Carver, who apparently didn't follow them but found the address somehow. Lucifer followed him in, but locked Chloe out because he promised "no police". Chloe called in SWAT.
Lucifer caught up with Carver who told him the kidnappers demanded that he come or there was no deal. A masked man then appeared and tried to grab the money bag. Lucifer held firm but relented at Carver's request. The kidnapper refused to bring Lindsay to them, and Carver pulled a gun on him. At a distance, Chloe heard a gunshot, which turned out to be Lindsay, who shot Carver in the back, saying she couldn't let him shoot her brother. Lindsay then said she met Carver previously and he had seduced her, a virgin, two years ago. When he met her more recently he didn't remember her at all, while Lucifer dryly commented he situation was getting from bad to worse. Carver said he deserved to get shot, Lucifer said he did not, an appropriate punishement for him was the clap or crabs, but not death. Her brother told her to shoot Lucifer. He advanced towards Lindsay, casually backhanding her brother on the way, "How are you any better? Why do humans always think they can rectiy one evil with another?" and briefly flashes his devil face. Chloe entered and saw a flash of his eyes in a reflection and asked, "What are you?"
With all three of the others cowering on the ground, Lucifer once again asserted that he was, in fact, the Devil, and goaded her into shooting him. Impulsively, she complied. To his immense shock, however, Lucifer found that he was bleeding, and then he realized "son of a bitch, that really hurts!" He collapsed and stared at her in confusion, "What is happening to me?"
The police backup then arrived and took care of the victims and suspects. Lucifer spoke to the lietenant and said if Chloe hadn't acted as she did all hell would have broken loose. Chloe thanked Lucifer and offered to drive him home. "I should bloody hope so."
After dropping Lucifer, Chloe went home and was greeted by Trixie, who asked about the blood on her shirt. When she admitted she sort of shot Lucifer, Trixie brought up the idea of her 'really liking' the guy she had shot.
At Lux, Lucifer told Maze he'd bled, and wasn't that exciting. She was upset at whatever was changing Lucifer, and demanded to go home, but Lucifer stated the fun had just begun.
