Summary[]

"Lucifer attempts to seduce Chloe, but she's just not like the other ladies. Meanwhile, Amenadiel shares his concern with Maze about Lucifer." [1]

Plot[]

In the shower, Chloe is deep in thought, trying to figure out if Lucifer really is who he claims to be. She recalls what she saw whilst half conscious when she was shot by Jimmy Barnes, and later visiting Jimmy as he smashes his head on the wall, drawing blood and calling Lucifer the Devil. She considers how Lucifer threw Joe Hanson through a window, but her thinking is interrupted by a noise downstairs. She shuts off the water and grabs her gun.

She heads downstairs in just a towel and is startled to find Lucifer in her house. Surprised, she accidentally drops the towel. In response to her question about what he’s doing there, Lucifer cheerfully announces that he’s setting the table because he made a "bit of breaky." Chloe hastily grabs the towel and rewraps herself. Outraged that he broke into her house, she tells him to get out.

Dan and Trixie then enter. Trixie hugs Lucifer, ecstatic to see him, and Lucifer tries to fend her off as if she were a pet - this time, with a slice of bacon. Trixie asks if they had a "sleepover." Chloe says no. Lucifer is then kicked out of the house, and Dan patronizingly tells Chloe that he's disappointed in her before leaving.

Later, Dan returns to Chloe's and informs her of a new case. He shows a video of a young woman and her brother driving together and tells her the woman, Lindsay Jolson, is missing. She was last seen with a man named Carver Cruz, a popular manosphere influencer who hosts events. Dan informs her that Carver is hosting another event soon - and that Lucifer is on the invite list.

Meanwhile, Linda and Lucifer further discusses his issues with Chloe. Linda explains to Lucifer that she thinks it is not that Chloe has power over him, but he gives power to her. Lucifer reaches the conclusion that he needs to take back control by seducing and having sex with Chloe, despite Linda's protests that it wasn't what she meant.

Chloe then meets with Lucifer to get his help to go to Carver's event. Lucifer agrees, only because it coincided with his goal to have sex with her. Chloe firmly stated she would never ever sleep with him. "Until hell freezes over" she says, but Lucifer says he could arrange that.

As they arrive at Carver's event - coined "Player" - they see a man who turns out to be the missing girl's brother. He's shouting and causing a scene, trying to get to see Carver. Just as the bouncer is about to kick him out, Lucifer distracts the bouncer by asking which of the women nearby he desired, but he revealed he was gay and was more interested in Lucifer. Lucifer said he was occupied, but he managed to make him leave. The brother accuses Carver of killing his sister, and Chloe assures him she would handle the situation and sends him off.

In the auditorium, Carver appeared on stage and gave a speech about his rules in life on how to "hunt" the fluffy bunnies of society - that is, women - as men are the wolves, which Lucifer was decidedly unimpressed with. He stands up and asked what if he already had everything Carver said was essential to getting women, and Chloe was still not receptive. Chloe, embarrassed, tries to get Lucifer to sit down but he carelessly revealed she was a cop and gets them kicked out.

Meanwhile, Maze is alone at Lux when she is surprised by Amenadiel, who dodges a knife she throws at him. They fought briefly but Amenadiel overpowers her and said they both wanted the same thing - to bring Lucifer back to Hell - even though Maze won't admit it. Ultimately, she refuses to cooperate.

Chloe touches Lucifer's scars on his back from when Maze cut his wings off.

That evening, Chloe looks for Lucifer at his penthouse as they prepare for the after-party of "Player" at Lux, and is surprised to find Lucifer, who is still determined to sleep with her after his therapy session with Linda, naked. She catches herself staring then insists he puts something on. A puzzled Lucifer complied and wraps a blanket around his waist. He does a slow turn for her and asked what could be better, but she notices huge scars on his back from where his wings were cut off by Maze, and her sympathy was aroused. She asks what happened, tries to touch them but Lucifer quickly turns around, holds her wrists in place and says, "Don't. Please." Lucifer, visibly discomposed and flustered, quickly leaves to get dressed.

At the after-party, they spot Carver, who acts agitated and afraid of something or someone. When approached, he pulls out a gun and demands to leave. However, Chloe pins him on the ground, and in a panic, Carver asks them to stop and says "they" are going to kill Lindsay.

Up in the penthouse, Carver admits that despite his hypocrisy as a "player" and of his objectification of women, he still deeply loves Lindsay. This fascinates Lucifer. Carver then reveals Lindsay's mysterious kidnappers said they are going to kill Lindsay if the cops were involved. Whilst Chloe asks more questions, Lucifer picks up Carver's phone and calls the kidnappers, arranging a meeting to Chloe's dismay and frustrations. They then receive a video of Lindsay begging Carver to rescue her. Lucifer intends to go alone, as he made a deal with the kidnappers that there would be no cops, but Chloe insisted to come along while forbidding Carver from joining them. Lucifer agrees, but says she would have to wait in the car.

Over at the scheduled location, Chloe and Lucifer wait in the car. Chloe asks a bit more about his supposed immortality in disbelief, but as they talk, Chloe spots Carver - who apparently did not follow Chloe's instructions and found the address to here somehow. The pair follow him in with Lucifer carrying the money, but he locks Chloe out as he promised the kidnappers that there would be "no police".

Lucifer catches up with Carver who tells him the kidnappers demanded that he come or there was no deal. A masked man then appears and tries to grab the bag of money. Lucifer holds firm but lets go at Carver's request. The kidnapper refuses to bring Lindsay to them, so Carver pulled a gun on him. At a distance, Chloe hears a gunshot, which turns out to be Lindsay, who shot Carver in the back. The kidnap is revealed to be a trap for Carver all along orchestrated by Lindsay, getting her brother to play the kidnapper. She then talks about how Carver took her virginity two years ago, and when she met him more recently, he couldn't even remember her at all and that he simply used her as material for her book. Lucifer, upset with the harsh punishment of shooting Carver, advances towards Lindsay, backhanding her brother on the way, "How are you any better? Why do humans always think they can rectify one evil with another?" and briefly flashes his Devil face. Chloe interrupts and catches a glimpse of his bloody red face in the reflection of a metallic surface. Confused at what she saw along with all the unexplainable things Lucifer has done, asks, "What are you?"

With Lindsay cowering on the ground and the other two men hurt, Lucifer once again asserted that he is, in fact, the Devil, and goads her into shooting him. Under the pressure, Chloe impulsively pulls the trigger. However, to Lucifer's immense shock, the bullet penetrates into his leg, and he starts to bleed. The pain rushes through his body like never before, and he collapses onto the ground, looking at Chloe in confusion, "What's happening to me?"

The police then arrives and takes care of the victims and suspects. Lucifer speaks to the Lieutenant and Chloe watches from a distance. She fears that Lucifer is informing the Lieutenant to what had transpired, as shooting him may cost her her police career. Chloe walks over, and just as she prepares to explain herself, Lucifer says that if Chloe hadn't acted as she did, all hell would have broken loose. The Lieutenant praises Chloe, and leaves. Chloe thanks Lucifer and offers to drive him home.

After dropping off Lucifer, Chloe goes home and is greeted by Trixie - who asks about the blood on her shirt. When she admits to her that she shot Lucifer, Trixie reminds her mom about the boy who threw fries at her during lunch. Trixie says that Chloe said it meant the boy liked her, and so if Chloe shot Lucifer, that must mean she really likes Lucifer.

At Lux, Lucifer told Maze he'd bled, and how exciting it was. Maze, upset at whatever is causing Lucifer to show mortality, demanded to go home as the Lord of Hell injured by a mere human bullet is something that cannot happen, but Lucifer tells her that the fun, has just begun.
