- Presumebly the position was vacant after Olivia got promoted, which allowed Marcus to transfer in.
- In the alternate universe, John Decker has position in 2018. As Chloe and Lucifer hadn't met yet, there was no information to attract Marcus to L.A. to find a way to break his curse.
