Lilith was the first wife of Adam and the mother of Mazikeen and the Lilim. In later life, she took the stage name Lily Rose.
History[]
Lilith was created to be Adam's first wife, in whom he was very pleased. Lilith, however, never loved Adam. When she refused to obey him and his father, she was cast out of the Garden of Eden. When she left the Garden, "I took one little piece of that garden on the way out, the stone that was in my ring. I didn't like much of anything about my life back then, but I sure did love that garden...the ring reminds me that I don't need Adam or his family, that I don't need anybody."
Lilith went on to birth a species called the Lilim, to provide her friend Lucifer with the army he did not know he needed. The Lilim includes Mazikeen, Dromos, Squee, Gromos and Belios among countless others, "My children are perfect. They can't be banished, because they have no home, can't be abandoned, because they have no family, they'll never be cast out of the proverbial garden....they are going to be unbreakable."
Lilith and Lucifer
In New York City, 1946, Lilith was working as a cabaret singer in the Garden Club using the stage name Lily Rose. She contacted Lucifer, and demanded his help in finding her ring, which had been stolen. When asked why he should help, she told him he owed her, and he acknowledged he did. After recovering the ring and discovering the reason for its theft, Lilith decided, "It's knowing there's an end, that's what makes the rest of it count....I think I've been immortal long enough." So she chose to give up her immortality, and place it inside the ring. She then gives the ring to Lucifer stating that she wants to try connecting with Humanity.
Over half a century later, Mazikeen hears Lilith's story through Trixie, who tricks it out of Lucifer. Maze tracks her mother down and discovers a now-elderly Lilith living in Reno. Maze demands to know why she and her siblings were abandoned, and Lilith tells her, "I did it to make you strong, and it worked. Just look at you, I can see you don't need anyone."
Lilith further states, "I gave something a shot. It didn't work out," indicating she never did form the connections she sought. This is further borne out by the fact she is completely indifferent to Mazikeen's appearance, even complaining that Lucifer told her anything. Maze informs her mother she found her without Lucifer's aid. Lilith's total disinterest in her daughter leaves Maze cold, and she stalks off without another word. When she later talks to Linda about it, Linda is convinced Maze must actually speak to her mother. When Maze returns to Reno, however, she is told her mother died several days earlier.
Lilith's Ring[]
After Chloe Decker is murdered by Michael, Lucifer breaks his banishment, and returns to Heaven where he discovers that wearing the ring containing Lilith's immortality protects him from the heavenly fire that would destroy him for breaking the banishment. The power fades quickly, however, as it works to keep him alive, and by the time that Lucifer finds Chloe, there is only enough power left to restore one of them. Lucifer pushes the ring on to Chloe's left hand ring finger, and by giving Chloe the ring, he is able to resurrect her using the last of Lilith's immortality, even as he is apparently consumed by heavenly fire.
Personality[]
Lilith is an elegant, arrogant woman, very sure of herself. According to Mazikeen, Lilith is a fearless woman, but she is just not the "mothering" type. The way Maze describes her childhood supports this fact. Rather than nurturing and caring for her children, Lilith sent them to be Lucifer's army - killers and torturers all. This is her own way of protecting them and making them strong.
After meeting Gertie and learning her motivations, Lilith takes an interest in making an emotional connection with humans. But she realizes that she can't do that while keeping her immortality, so she gave it up so she can understand Humans. She later tells Maze it didn't work out.

- Supernatural Stamina: Lilith possessed incredibly "Tremendous Stamina" like Lucifer and Mazikeen, as she doesn't need to eat or drink.
- Immortality (formerly): Lilith was gifted with immortality, which she eventually sacrificed in order to find a purpose in her life.
- Beast Taming: Lilith can tame beasts and force them into submission. How far this ability reaches is unknown.

- Singing: Lilith was the best cabaret singer in New York City in 1946, she was shown to be a remarkably talented singer. She sings many times in her club: The Garden Club. Her repertoire includes "I Wanna Be Evil" and "Someone To Watch Over Me".
- Bilingualism: Lilith can speak and understand English and Spanish, as she met Hernan Cortez and several of his men.

- Eve holds the title of the first woman, implying that Lilith is not human.
- In Jewish folklore, Lilith is known as Adam's first wife, who was created at the same time and from the same dirt as Adam. Lilith also is a female demon that lurks in deserted places or ruins and attack babies. In the same folklore she is also portrayed as Adam's rejected first wife, who was turned into a night demon for refusing to obey him.
- When she was immortal, Lilith was presented as Maze's mirror image in Lucifer's story.
