Lesley-Ann Brandt plays Mazikeen in the Fox/Netflix series, Lucifer. She can be seen in several roles in various New Zealand TV shows. She got her big break with a role in Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
History[]
Lesley-Ann was born in Cape Town, South Africa on December 2, 1981. She is of East Indian, German, Dutch and Spanish descent. In 1999, she emigrated to Auckland, New Zealand with her parents and younger brother. She studied acting and was trained in the Meisner technique in 2008.
Career[]
Her first significant acting role was Diplomatic Immunity, a New Zealand television series. She then appeared as Naevia in Spartacus: Blood and Sand, a role she would reprise in the follow up miniseries Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. She also landed several guest roles in such television shows as Chuck, The Librarians, and Gotham
In 2015, she was cast as Mazikeen in Lucifer, after the initial actress, Lina Esco, was recast after the first table read.
She is based mostly in Auckland, New Zealand and Los Angeles, California.
Personal Life[]
She married Chris Payne Gilbert in 2015. Their son, Kingston, was born in July 2017.
Gilbert played Officer John Decker in Lucifer.[1]
