Hanjobadiel is an Angel and one of Lucifer Morningstar's siblings. He is known as the Angel of Giving.

Biography

History

Creation

Hanjobadiel was one of the many Angels created by God and Goddess, billions of years ago.[1] He was considered a handsome man among his family, a view not held by Lucifer Morningstar.[2]

God's Retirement Party

Hanjobadiel was one of the Angels present for God's retirement party on Earth, in which he is seen thanking his Father (whom he refers to as "Pop") after being given a burger. When Lucifer arrived in order to state his intention to become the next God, he mentions that God's replacement would be the handsomest of them all; Gabriel immediately assumed that Lucifer meant Hanjobadiel, which caused Lucifer to quickly dismiss the notion and assert himself instead. This sparks an argument amongst the Angels, that is ultimately quelled by God, who assures His children that a successor will be chosen in time, after His retirement plan is sorted.[2]

Powers and Abilities

Hanjobadiel shares many abilities that are given to all Angels, though his battle strength and capabilities are largely unknown.

  • Angel Physiology: As an angel, Hanjobadiel has their powers, as well as their weaknesses.
    • Superhuman Strength: Hanjobadiel, like all angels, has immense levels of superhuman strength and can exert, lift and carry an unbelievable amount of force and mass.
    • Superhuman Speed: Hanjobadiel, like all angels, has tremendous superhuman speed, he can appear and disappear much faster than the human eye could see.
    • Superhuman Reflexes: Hanjobadiel, like all angels, has incredible superhuman reflexes, and react, dodge, or catch incoming damage at immense speeds.
    • Immortality: As an angelic celestial being, Hanjobadiel is immune to age, having lived since the beginning of creation, and is also impossible to harm by any means which can kill or injure mortals easily. Like all angels, only things that could kill him are demon daggers forged in hell and the Flaming Sword which is the only supernatural weapon that can permanently kill and eradicate an Angel.
    • Flight: Hanjobadiel, like all angels, can fly via wings at high speeds, he like all angels, can use his wings to travel between Heaven, Hell and Earth.

Weaknesses

Although very little is known about Hanjobadiel personally, he should possess the same weaknesses that are given to all angels.

  • Demon Daggers Forged In Hell: Demon Daggers are able to lethally harm all angels; even if the metal is melted down and re-forged as bullets the properties would still preserved as shown when Chloe was able to quickly wound and incapacitate two angels with a gun loaded with bullets forged from the daggers.
  • Other Supernatural Beings: Like all other angels, Hanjobadiel can be harmed by other supernatural beings, which includes other angels and demons.
  • Self - Actualization It is mentioned throughout the series that all angels are able to self-actualize, which results in their judgements manifesting as psychosomatic changes, as shown with Amenadiel losing his wings and Lucifer regaining his angel wings despite cutting them off. Like any other angel, Hanjobadiel should be vulnerable to self-actualization.
  • Flaming Sword: Hanjobadiel can be eradicated by Azrael's Blade and the completed Flaming Sword.
