Sonya Harris is a minor character on Lucifer and is currently serving as a detective in Los Angeles for the L.A.P.D. She previously served as Amenadiel's training officer and partner on the force.
History[]
Despite being a good officer with impressive detective skills, Harris repeatedly turned down chances to become a detective due to racism in the department, particularly from her higher-ups. Instead, she worked as a patrol and training officer with a high washout rate for trainees due to her vigorous methods. Amenadiel believed that Harris did this on purpose, looking for the best of the best who wouldn't give up easily under pressure.
Throughout the Series[]
In "A Lot Dirtier Than That", Harris serves as Amenadiel's training officer and partner. Despite a rough start, Amenadiel recognizes Harris' talent and passion for her job and the two work together to protect an innocent young woman, leading to a brief standoff with a racist cop that Amenadiel had previously clashed with over Caleb Mayfield.
In "Partners 'Til the End", Harris greets Chloe Decker after she's reinstated to the LAPD. Months later, after Chloe becomes a Lieutenant, Harris is shown to have been promoted to Detective and is working on solving a murder with Ella Lopez and Carol Corbett. Harris appears to spot Amenadiel when he drops by for a second before disappearing, causing Harris to pause for a moment before resuming her presentation to Ella and Carol.
