Adam is the first male human created by God. He was the husband of Eve, the father of Cain and Abel, and the progenitor of humanity.

History[]

Adam was created alongside his first wife Lilith in the Garden of Eden. However, after they separated, God used one of Adam’s ribs to create his new mate Eve. Throughout their millennia of marriage, Adam still longed for Lilith and never really loved Eve, who tried to change herself into the woman Adam wanted her to be but was never enough for him.

Eve did sire him two sons named Cain and Abel. When Adam and Eve died on Earth, they became the first human residents of the Silver City.

Throughout the Series[]

In "All About Eve", after Eve returns to Earth, Lucifer asks where Adam is. Eve tells him that Adam is still in Heaven where everyone except for her is happy. Eve also adds that everyone always forgets that she didn't choose Adam, she was created for him. "Turns out an arranged existence kinda takes the spark out of things." While they got along just fine, Eve doesn't think that Adam ever really loved the real her.

In "My Best Fiend's Wedding", Adam returns to Earth after finally realizing that Eve is gone, albeit a year and a half later. He interrupts Eve and Maze's wedding and attempts to get Eve to get back together with him without any success. His self-absorbed behavior during the wedding disgusts even Lucifer who notes that Adam is still pining after Lilith. Adam eventually asks if he can walk Eve down the aisle, but she refuses. He later seeks advice from Dr. Linda Martin about Eve's rejection of his offer to walk her down the aisle, having shown a genuine desire to change for the better after his earlier actions.

Personality[]

According to Eve, Adam lounges around Heaven for the most part. Even Lucifer sarcastically calls him "a barrel of laughs". Since Heaven got ESPN, Adam has been watching avidly.

When he reappears on Earth, Adam shows he is the poster child of toxic masculinity. He makes Lucifer's past self-absorption look minor in comparison; he thinks everything is about him even when flatly told it's not. Adam later admits that he was confused about what to do as God gave him a defined role; being in Heaven didn't help. Turns out he didn't even notice Eve left Heaven for over a year and thought her wedding with Maze was a cry for help.

Adam did try making progress with evolving, but found he was contradicting himself.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Rebirth: As he was a direct creation by God much like Eve, Adam was able to leave Heaven to go back to Earth and slip back into the remains of his human body and be reborn in his original youthful appearance.
